1. Read and Understand
Read the essay topic properly and digest the complete question. Think about the
topic for 2 minutes before you do anything else.
2. Pick a side
Decide on an argument. Do not be afraid to take sides — In fact, oftentimes there
is no right answer to a given topic. The essay merely tests your ability to articulate
your thoughts in a structured manner.
3. Structure
Form a basic structure for your essay. Think about the various points that you need
to cover and an imaginary title that summarizes each paragraph. When you finish
writing the essay, make sure that what you have written corresponds to the imaginary
title. This helps you keep your essay with the right structure.
4. Conclusion
Make sure you conclude strongly. Use real-life examples or draw from famous anecdotes
to reinforce your position on the topic.
5. Handwriting
Make sure you write clearly and legibly. Use correct grammar and syntax and use
the space on your answer sheet wisely.
